Updating Information

So y'all probably noticed by now that I haven't been posting every Sunday like I originally planned. The reason for that is I have a lot of stuff going on right now and I'm having trouble finding time to post things.

I have decided that I will post at least twice a month. I will try to post more than that if I can.

I hope y'all understand and sorry again!

BTW!! This sums me up during Christmas...

No lie...I act like Buddy during the Holidays... XD

Anybody else? I know Abi does too...We're both obsessed with Christmas...Our families think we're weird...XD

Anyway! I love you all almost as much as bacon!

I will post as soon as I can.

Hugs, Kisses, and Bacon!

Life Tip #4 - Packing for the Holidays!

Hey y'all! So it isn't Sunday BUT in my defense I was packing because I'm traveling for the Holidays! XD Ironic? Nope, that's actually why I'm doing this post.

BTW! Check out the poll over there ------------------------------------------------------->

This is going to be interesting because I'm on the road right now. I'm going to start with things I always bring and have by me while in the car.

I always bring:

Book(s)
Movies
Tablet/Computer
Headphones
Snacks
Small Pillow
Blanket
Stuffed Animal

Those are the main things I keep by me for the car ride...well not including my pet brother XD...Do any of you have a pet brother? Their cute, I guess but they can be annoying, right?

Here are my 5 tips for packing:

1) What to Pack
Determining what to pack comes down to 2 things, How long are you going for? And what is the temperature going to be like? For instance I'll be gone for 5 days and it will be cold.

2) Suitcase Size
Your suitcase size will depend on how much clothes your bringing and how thick your clothes are.

3) SHOES!
Shoes are probably my biggest struggle because I never know what I'm going to be doing. I don't want to bring a lot of shoes. I normally wind up bring two pairs at most. I bring good walking shoes and a pair of cute shoes.

4) Movies
Movies are pretty difficult for me to pack because of my brother. After we argued for about an hour, we decided that we would both take 3 movies each. He chose 3 and I chose 3.

5) Snacks
Now, you can ask any of my friends. I. LOVE. FOOD. It's as simple as that. The only problem is because I love food, I have trouble deciding what snacks I can to bring and what I can't bring. I would suggest bring a good amount of snacks while remembering to be healthy and cheapish.

I hope you enjoyed these tips. :)

Okay so I want y'all to email me or DM me on Instagram any stories from Thanksgiving. Funny. Sad. Happy. Confusing. I wanna here it all.

I apologize again for not posting this Sunday but I got extremely busy. (Information about posts for the future will be put up later this week.)

Life Tip #2 - Friends

Friendship is such an amazing thing. The only problem with it nowadays is that you don't know which friends are true and which friends aren't. I always thought I had friends, when in reality, I only had "friends".

That is until 2010.

In 2010, my family and I started going to a new church. I still remember my first encounter with a girl named Abigail, who is now my best friend in the entire world!

This is what normally happens at my church: We have worship, then we have a 5 minute beak, and then we have the message. During the 5 minute, my cousin and I were sitting and talking to each other about how we were pretty much being loners. This girl came up to us and was extremely animated when she said, "HI! My name's Abigail! What's yours?!"

Now at this point I was shocked and, to be honest, a little scared. I was so nervous about talking to the people at this church and she just came up and was all outgoing. It was CRAZY! Long story short, I talked to her and she showed me what true friendship is. Now, 5 years later, I can't imagine my life without her as my best friend. (Granted, I have another Best Friend also.)
Abi (Abigail) and Emily (5/28/2015)

That's us...Ain't we cute?

Here are some tips on finding friends rather than "friends":

1)  If your friends don't except you for who you are, they aren't really your friends. Your true friends should never try to change you.

2)  Your true friends will believe in you, even when you don't believe in yourself. They will be there to lift you up and encourage you.

3)  If someone can make you smile even when you want to cry for days, they are a true friend. If someone is the reason you want to cry for days, they are not a true friend.

4)  A true friend will care enough to notice when your smile is real or fake.

5)  If a person there for you during the hard times, they are the friends worth keeping in your life. If someone leaves you because they "can't deal with this right now", they are not true friends.

I love going on Pinterest and searching 'Best Friend Quotes' or 'Friendship Quotes' and seeing the different things that pop up. Here are some of my favorite ones:
Here are some more pics of me and my best friend Abi:
I love this girl so much! I can't imagine what my life would be like without my best friend in it. I'm also very happy that she was a TRUE FRIEND rather than a "FRIEND". I thank God everyday that I got to meet her! I dedicate this post to her and her awesomeness.

Louisiana Amber Alert

Hey y'all! So normally I would be posting a new life tip. Well, today didn't go as expected.

There is so much going on in the world today.

Do to Hurricane Patricia, Louisiana is going to have rain until Tuesday, if not later. We need to keep Mexico and everyone who lives there in our prayers.

Louisiana had a water spout earlier this morning. It passed not to far from where I live. We need to keep everyone who had damage or any kind of problem, from the storm, in our prayers.

I'm sure you are wondering why this post is called, 'Louisiana Amber Alert' if all I've brought up was bad weather. Well, today, at around 7:25 a.m., an 8 year old boy, Dakota Knox, was abducted and last seen in Ruston, Louisiana.

I just felt the need to bring a little more awareness to this situation. You don't think something like this could happen to you until it does happen to you or someone you care about. Well, even though I don't know Dakota Knox, I care about this poor 8 year old little boy, who is believed to be in imminent danger.

I have some links for more about this story here:

5) http://www.missingpersonsofamerica.com/2015/10/amber-alert-dakota-knox-8-yrs-old.html

It is believed for them to still be in Louisiana at the time. Please pray for this poor young boy and his family.

I have posted it on my instagram with the caption something like this,
"Check out my post from today, not a life tip but a day in my life. Lord, please help find Dakota! We have been getting alerts on the Tv and our phones all day today. Please pray that someone finds him before any harm comes his way. Pray that nothing bad has happened to him yet. Pray that the Lord is watching over him as we speak. I'll update y'all on when and if they find him! #FindDakotaKnox #laAmberAlert #LordBeWithHim #PleasePleasePleasePrayForThisBoysSafety #dakotaknox"

"Dakota was last seen on Sunday at around 7:25 am at the Lincoln Motel (904 E. Georgia Avenue, Ruston, La.) asleep in the rear of a vehicle. The vehicle, a black 2000 Mercury Mountaineer bearing Louisiana license plate ZAW146 is suspected to have been stolen by Hattaway.

Anyone with information on this abducted child case is urged to immediately call the Ruston Police Department at 318-255-4141 or 911."

Keep Dakota safe from harm Lord!
I will update with any findings or information about Dakota.

Until next Sunday,

Life Tip #3 - Costume Tips/Ideas

So, I know Halloween is coming up and I thought why not give some last minute costumes that you could use. Even though I don't celebrate Halloween, I still have times when I need a costume! Like, for instance, my youth group has had a lock-in every year for the past 3 years. Here are my costumes from the past 3 years.

The first year (2013) I went as Joanie from Happy Days. (AMAZING SHOW!)
What you'll need: Women's Button-Up Short Sleeve Shirt (I got mine from Walmart.)
                               Jean Capri (Already Owned)
                               White School Socks
                               White Sneakers (Payless Shoe Store)
                               Bandana (Walmart)

This costume was super cute and easy! Another cool thing about this costume is that you can make it into a couples costume. If you've ever seen Happy Days, you know that Joanie marries Chachi at the end of the series. A Chachi costume would be super easy.
Here is what you'll need: Red T-shirt
                                         Jean Jacket
                                         Jeans
Red Bandana (Tie around upper right thigh)
                                         Sneakers (Preferably older looking ones)

I absolutely LOVE these two costumes and think they would be perfect for a couple's costume.

This is Joanie and Chachi. I couldn't find the picture that I got my costume idea from but it would still work for Joanie.

(Fun Fact: Did you know that they made a follow up show after Happy Days called 'Joanie Loves Chachi'?)

The next year (2014) at the Lock-In, I went as something from my favorite TV Show. Doctor Who!

Technically it was a dress that I used as a costume but I got it from Hot Topic. It was the T.A.R.D.I.S. dress and it was AMAZING! I loved getting to explain to everyone why I was dressed as a police box and what Doctor Who was (Minus the fellow geeks I ran into). This is probably my favorite costume I've ever done.
So what you'll need for this costume is: T.A.R.D.I.S. Dress (Hot Topic)
                                                               Blue Knee High Socks (Walmart)
                                                               Black Combat Boots (Already Owned)
                                                               T.A.R.D.I.S. Headband (Hot Topic)

Sadly, at the time I wore this costume the headband was unavailable. The costume still works without it but I personally think it would have been better with the headband.

This could also be a collab costume with someone as a companion, monster, or the Doctor.

I had 3 friends show up as the Doctor and one friend dressed as a cyberman. We had two 11th Doctors and one 4th Doctor. Sadly, we didn't have anybody dressed up as a companion.

(Fun Fact: My friend, Jesse dressed as the 4th Doctor, built a robotic K-9 for part of his costume and carried around a bag of Jelly Babies.)

This years (2015) costumes was a super simple DIY. It's pretty much a Jersey T-Shirt.
All you'll need is: V-neck T-Shirt (Old Navy)
                         Some Letter Stencils (Already Owned)
                         Some fabric paint (Walmart)
                         A paint brush (Already Owned)
Fabric (The same color as the paint)
                         Fabric Glue
                         Paper
                         Pen/Pencil

First, you want to place the letters on the back of the shirt to spell out whatever you want. Mine said "Lil Emmy" as a joke between me and a few friends.

After you place all the letters, you're now going to trace all of the edges of the letters.

Next, take your fabric paint and trace over your pen/pencil marks. Then, paint the insides of the letters using the brush.

While waiting for that to dry, take a piece of paper and make a pattern in a front pocket like shape. Trace that on the piece of fabric, cut about a half an inch extra on each side. Fold the edges over and glue them down. I added a little bow on my pocket to make it a little more girly.

When the shirt is dry, flip it over and glue the pocket down, mine was glued fully down but if you want it to work like a pocket then just glue the sides down.

When the shirt is complete, you can pair it with shorts, a skirt, or jeans. I wore jeans, so I paired it with Converse sneakers.

I put my hair in pigtails and used little make up to pull off the whole "little girl" look.

Here is what it looked like:

(Fun Fact: I had a mini cold for this Lock-in and didn't get to ride the Go Karts at Celebration Station. A lot of my friends also couldn't ride because of wearing long dresses.)

Now that was a few costume ideas but how about some tips for different costumes and on Halloween.

1) If you make your own costume, I suggest making it out of warm clothing. If you have a bought costume, bring a jacket or hoodie.

2) Have comfortable shoes with you in case your feet start to hurt while you're in costume.

3) Don't go alone! Make sure to have someone with you at all times. Be SAFE!

4) Stay in a neighborhood you're familiar with. This way you have a less chance of getting lost.

5) If making a costume, I suggest making it a month before at the most and a week before at the least.

So that's all the tips I have for this post. I hope y'all have fun with the costume ideas and tips. If you do make one of the costumes, email me a picture, send a pic via Instagram, or tag me in a photo of it.

I hope that you enjoyed this post and decide to come back for more!
